Manhattan Gunman's Note Referred to N.F.L. and Brain Trauma, Police Say

A note found on the gunman mentioned the N.F.L., as well as claims that the man had suffered from a degenerative brain disease, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or C.T.E., from playing football, the police said.
